ABOUT THE WORK:

Fusion (or something poetic) aims to express a calm and romanticised ideal of the connection between humans and nature. The two figurative sculptures are half submerged in the ground, as if sinking back in to the earth and creating unbroken bonds both between each other and the land underneath them. The open frame work allows for a bonding between the work and the plants that will grow inside of them, further joining earth and man.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Neringa Kalvaityte is a jeweller and material based art student from Lithuania. Her curiosity of craft and urge to explore various materials is a driving force in her making. It takes her work through materials both precious and mundane and through works large and small. The relationship between humans, the material and the nature where they coexist are repeated themes in her work.
