ABOUT THE WORK:

SabotageCity is a comment on urban development/nondevelopment of parts of modern cities which are not considered “profitable”. The piece includes several birdhouses that are crowded up around a tree. In the void between the different houses little insect hotels are build in. The intention behind this is that the inhabitants of SabotageCity would eat each other. These two competitive inhabitants so close to each other should portrait the problematic relation between inhabitants of certain neighbourhoods in urban areas. At the same time this piece could be considered a field try out if two colliding groups coexist in peace or if the would fight each other. The aesthetics are inspired by so called failed neighbourhoods such as slums or favelas.
